626 Nimrod Drive

Millboro, VA  24460

Welcome to Nimbacova Farm!  We are delighted you will be staying with us and want to provide some basic information to ensure you have a blast during your visit.  Some of the key policies:

  • Golden Rule.  Think about who might visit after you.  If you use a lot of paper towels, or finish the last roll of toilet paper, or clean out the beers, please make an effort to replace what you consumed.  There is a Dollar General in Craigsville (20 minutes away) and an IGA Supermarket in Clifton Forge (30 minutes away).  Beer is available at the Millboro Mercantile at the end of the Cowpasture Highway / Route 42 (10 minutes).

  • BYOB.  You are welcome to tap into our supply, but in general you should bring your own and replace what you use.

  • Leave No Trace.  Please do your best to replace things as you find them, including leaving bags of trash in the cans in the outside enclosure (close to the mudroom door).  And please pack out or dispose of any perishable foods.

  • Strip the Beds.  It would be appreciated if you would strip the beds and leave the sheets in the bedroom where you slept.

  • Thirsty Flowers.  In the event there are living flowers on the back terrace, please water them from time to time!  There’s a hose near the grill.

  • Main House Master.  We appreciate you treating the master bedroom in the Main House as “off limits.”  We keep a bunch of our personal stuff there and prefer our guests to sleep in other bedrooms!

  • Beware the Steep Cliff!  There is a 90 foot drop from the cliff behind the Main House to the river.  There are lights on the hillside that come on automatically after dark, but be SUPER CAREFUL not to get too close and keep a close eye on children!

Here is some basic information to ensure you can access all the amenities!

  • WiFi.  We have high bandwidth WiFi on property:

Main House - “Nimbacova Farm” with password 9783696614
Hilltop Bunkhouse - “Hilltop” with password 9785057169

The Main House WiFi sometimes reaches the Tinies.

  • Telephone.  We don’t have one, but we get very good cell service at the Main House.

  • Four Wheelers.  There are two 4-wheelers that are usually found in the barns.  BE CAREFUL as they are powerful and we don’t want anyone getting hurt.

Red Massimo - This runs on gas and the ignition key is in the cup holder.  To turn on:

    1. Turn the key to the ON position and WAIT to start it - the speedometer will read “0”
    2. Turn the key to start the engine
    3. If the gear shift feels stuck, pull back a bit and press the button on the gear shift

Blue Hisun - This is electric (quieter but smaller).  It’s a bit tricky to turn on.

    1. Flip the rocker switch with F (forward) and R (reverse) to the middle setting (neutral)
    2. Press the brake pedal to release the emergency brake
    3. Pull the emergency brake up (the vehicle won’t start if it’s depressed even a tiny bit)
    4. Turn the key until you hear a gentle click

At that point, you should be good to go.  It has 3 levels “H” High, “M” Medium, and “L” Low - this will determine how fast you go.  You shouldn’t need to charge it during your visit (it has 30+ miles of range) but please plug it back in when you leave.

  • Inner Tubes.  Floats on the Cowpasture are an essential part of the Nimbacova experience, and we have a bunch of tubes in the barn.  There is an inflation pump on the right side of the barn as you come through the gate.

  • Swimming Towels.  The royal blue “NF” towels (in the mudroom in the Main House and laundry room in the Bunkhouse) are for swimming.  Please use those, and not the bath towels. Please dry swimming towels on the clothesline beyond the trash enclosure - we adhere to a reuse policy during your visit!

  • Outdoor Grill.  Despite its funky design, it works like any other grill.  Allow extra time for the grilling surface to heat up, and use the aluminum tool hanging on the wall to lift the grill on and off.  Please put the cover back on before you leave, but ONLY WHEN THE GRILL IS NO LONGER HOT!

  • Fire Pit.  Definitely enjoy the fire pit.  If the woodpile runs low, Wes can restock for you.

  • Televisions.  We have two: one in the basement, and the other in the living room of the Main House.  We don’t have cable, but you should be able to access your favorite streaming services from both.  When you turn on the TV, press the HOME icon on the remote to get to the menu of options.

  • Sonos.  There is a Sonos system in the Main House, including a portable speaker (in the kitchen) that can be brought outside.  You can access it as long as your smartphone is logged into WiFi.

Our farm manager, Wes Shrader, is available to solve any problems or answer any questions you may have.  We hope you have a great stay!
